Full-Time Police Officer

 

The Town of Southwest Harbor currently has an opening for a full-time police officer.

 

Applicants must be 21 years old, a high school graduate or equivalent, have no criminal record, no significant motor vehicle record, and have successfully completed the Law Enforcement Pre-Service Course.  Preference for applicants who are Certified Maine Criminal Justice Academy graduates with current police certification.  The Town offers a competitive wage and benefit package.

Lt. Michael W. Miller attended University College in Bangor from fall 1985 - spring of 1987 acquiring an Associates Degree in Legal Technology (Law Enforcement).  Miller began his Police Career in the fall of 1987 with the Bar Harbor Police Department where he served for 6 years.  In 1993 Miller went to work for the Jackson Laboratory on a full time basis, where he held an assistant supervisor’s position, and started part-time for the Southwest Harbor Police Department.  Then in 2004 Miller accepted the Southwest Harbor Police Department’s Lieutenant’s position
