Locked Guns Save Lives

GUN SAFETY INFORMATION FOR PARENTS:

bullet

Never keep loaded guns in your home.

bullet

Always store your gun with a trigger lock and /or in a locked cabinet.

bullet

Keep guns out of sight and reach of children.

bullet

Make sure cabinet/gun lock keys are inaccessible to children.

bullet

Ask if there are unlocked guns in homes where your children play.

bullet

Educate you children to treat firearms as loaded and dangerous;  Tell them that when they see a gun, they should STOP, Don't Touch, Run from the area, and Tell An Adult right away.

bullet

If your child is known to be suicidal, remove all guns from your home.

GUN LOCK INFORMATION:

bullet

Never put the gun lock on a loaded gun; attempts to attach a gun lock to a loaded gun can result in an accidental discharge.

bullet

The gun lock will enclose the trigger guards of most guns so that the trigger cannot be pulled.

bullet

The lock will work on most guns, but some lever action rifles, guns without trigger guards surrounding their triggers, guns with extra light or extra wide triggers, and guns with trigger shoes or extensions may not be locked effectively with this trigger lock.

bullet

Gun locks are just on component of gun safety; no lock can offer complete protection against accidental or intentional misuse.

bullet

Keyed trigger locks are not appropriate in all circumstances.  If you need to keep a loaded weapon, gun safes or "life vests" should be used; in households with older children who might find keys or develop their own , (key-less) combination locks are recommended.

INSTRUCTION FOR USING GUN LOCKS:

bullet
